Jasper Balm
Jasper Balm
Jasper Balm is a multi-use hydrating salve which contains the lauded and fantastic Castor Oil. It said that Cleopatra used it to brighten the whites of her eyes. Castor oil is anti-aging, draws out impurities, and its various healing properties gave it the moniker, the Hands of Christ. Also, castor oil is famous for encouraging hair growth. So, if you have sparse eyebrows or short eyelashes, gingerly and carefully apply a little around your eyes before you go to sleep every night and watch if your eyebrows fill out. I know mine did!
Note from founder: This is my mother's favorite. In her experience, the castor oil aided and still aids in the health and vision of her eyes (i.e. diminishing her floaters) and minimizes the deep aging lines on her face. Also, her daily use of the tallow and macadamia nut oil has rejuvenated her skin. She also uses Jasper on her heels and says her feet have been transformed after daily use in a month's time.
Two sizes available: 3oz and 12ml.
INGREDIENTS
Tallow: purified, unrefined, grass-fed and grass-finished, synthetic-free, pesticide-free, non-GMO.
What is tallow and its benefits? Tallow is made from rendering and purifying a cow’s suet or hard fat. It’s very similar to human skin and works remarkably well with it. Rich in vitamins A, D, E, K, B12, and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), it nourishes the skin and contains healing properties. It’s been used for acne, bug bites, eczema, psoriasis, cuts, and scars, wrinkles, dark spots, fine lines, and even on the neck to relieve sore throats. It’s non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores), anti-microbial (anti-fungi, anti-bacterial, anti-viral), anti-aging, and extremely hydrating. It has oleic acid, palmitoleic acid, stearic acid, and linoleic acid.
Macadamia nut oil: cold-pressed, non-GMO, and non-comedogenic.
What are the benefits of macadamia nut oil? As children, our sebaceous glands in our skin produced a fatty acid called palmitoleic acid—which gave us soft and dewy skin. As we age, this fatty acid fades away almost completely. Macadamia nut oil contains as high as 21% of palmitoleic acid and thus, helps fight signs of aging and may reduce fine lines. It’s rich in vitamin E, oleic acid, squalene oil (cell regeneration), and phytosterol (relieves itchy, red, and irritated skin). Research has also discovered that it can help protect against the sun’s rays! It’s non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores), absorbs quickly in the skin, non-toxic, and non-staining.
Castor oil: organic, hexane-free, from a glass, amber bottle.
What are the benefits of castor oil? Castor oil comes from beans of the castor oil plant. It’s easily absorbed by the skin, rich in antioxidants, and high in unsaturated fatty acids (such as palmitic, stearate, sebacic acid—especially ricin oleic acid). Ricin oleic acid protects the skin and fights against acne.
Castor oil is extremely moisturizing, low on the comedogenic scale, and is said to remove impurities and dirt. It’s anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory (helps reduce acne), Its various uses for the healing of the body have given it the name the Hand of Christ.
Lavender essential oil: organic, gluten-free, and non-GMO.
What are the benefits of lavender essential oil? Besides a natural fragrance alternative, lavender essential oil is antifungal and antimicrobial, promotes hair growth, helps heal wounds, and has a calming effect on humans, according to various studies.
